Music industry is not what it used to be after the release of iTunes in 2003, followed by the release

of Spotify which almost changed the way we hear and enjoy music. Spotify has approximately 456 million monthly active users, with roughly 195 million paying subscribers. Spotify is the world's largest streaming service with 82 million songs on the platform. That is an incredible amount of users and songs, apart from other music streaming services like Apple, Youtube Music, Amazon, Napster, Pandora, Deezer, Tidal, IheartRadio, Soundcloud, Quboz, and many more.

With such an incredible number of music fans subscribing to music streaming services, there is still one big issue that lurks over the streaming world, which is royalties.

Streaming Royalties:

The fees paid to rights holders (eg: artists, record labels, songwriters, publishers, etc.) is called streaming royalties. Each time a song/music is played on any of the music streaming services such as Spotify, Apple, Youtube Music, Amazon, Napster, Pandora, Deezer, Tidal, IheartRadio, Soundcloud, Audiomack, boomplay, Quboz; the artists, songwriters, and publishers will get paid.

How much does music platforms pay per stream?

The royalty paid to the artists often depends on the below factors:

The music streaming platform, on which your music is streamed.

Number of seconds or minutes the song was streamed (Royalty will be paid less if only half of the song is streamed).

The type of streaming account (Free or Premium).

Pay per stream rate differs from one country to another.

Digital music distribution

Digital music distribution is the process of uploading songs/music to digital service providers such as Spotify, Apple Music, Pandora, Tidal, and 200 plus others. Distributors are the link between artists and online music platforms.

Digital bulk distributors are the most common type of independent distributors, located around the world. The majority of new artists distribute

their music through these platforms. Few Examples: Amuse, Onerpm, CDBaby, Distrokid, Tunecore. Some distributors allow independent artists to submit an application online to be accepted onto their platform. Examples: Stem and AWAL

Residential proxies and Mobile proxies:

Will require residential proxies and mobile proxies combined to run the softwares. If you use cheap DC proxies, there is a 99% chance of your artist getting banned in no time, so invest in

good proxies. I dont stick to only one provider, I change proxy providers often. Should pick up providers, who offer rotating IPs and unlimited bandwidth as streaming requires a lot of data.

Tools for streaming music platforms:

If you are budget constrained, start with readymade options, which are tested for years and upgraded often. When I started music streaming way back in 2018, I was searching for streaming tools, which are budget friendly and will make my life easy to stream.

Method #1

Semi-Auto Method: If you are just a starter and don't have enough budget and have only 1-5 artists, you can use Android emulators such as Genymotion, LDplayer and bluestacks. As most of the music streaming platforms are mobile centric, they have apps. Install the apps and stream manually with the help of proxies and

streaming accounts. Check the video on how to do it.

Method#2

As I manage a lot of artists, it is very difficult to handle it manually, so I started exploring to automate streaming. After thorough research and testing different tools like Android app called Automate, Windows software like Browser Automation Studio to automate the streaming tasks, I landed on a developer website called app-tools.pro, which develops music streaming softwares and sells on subscription basis. Have been using app-tools softwares for almost 4 years. The developers are professionals, who provide you with stable software that actually gives you results. They have softwares for all major streaming platforms. They keep the software up to date with user-friendly GUI.

If you have good investment or once you start making money from readymade sokwares, you can even hire good developers on freelancing websites, BHW Hire section and create your personal streaming sokwares.

 

Distributor Accounts

As explained above in the section; how the music industry works to get paid royalties, will need digital music distributors to get our artists live on different music streaming platforms. Requirements to upload Album/AP/Single:

High Quality Songs/music.

HQ artwork/art cover for the album 3000x3000 pixels.

Artist name and Album Name

Anti-detect browsers for multi-account management. (Gologin, Incogniton, dolphin). Available on BHW.

VPN.

Subscription fee for DSP (a few charge yearly fee and most of them are free)

When I started streaming in early 2019, even AI produced music from soundraw, AIVA, boomy, etc. I was able to cash out royalties without any takedowns. Gone are those days, no distro is approving AI music these days and they are approving high quality music and vocal songs only in 2023.

There are many music producers, who produce non-copyrighted music starting from $4 to $100 each and there won't be any guarantee that the music will get approved by the distro. You can wild search on google, you will get a handful as I cannot share any links over here.

If we buy basic music or song: Eg. $5x 5 songs - 25$ + HQ Art Cover 3-5$ = Approximately 30$ plus your time and hardwork.

Rather than buying music and doing it myself, wasting my precious time, I started buying live

distro/artist accounts, which are approved and live on all music streaming platforms and I still do that.

As I used to add 30-50 distro accounts each month, it was nearly impossible to upload these many artists on different distributors. I started hunting for freelancers who could do that for me, if I provide them with music to upload on different distros, but obviously I have to be on budget, and that was going nowhere and was spending more money for each artist account.

Fortunately, I met a guy on discord through a different forum who used to sell live distro accounts within budget with non-copyrighted music. You can easily buy distro accounts from him, trustworthy and good support. I have been buying distro accounts from him for the past 2 years and his TAT is always awesome. I

ook. I have around 1000 plus live artists on almost all major distros and labels.

Best Distros (2023)

I own artists accounts in almost all major distros, but have 70% of my artist on Repost soundcloud, Beatstars, Onerpm, Amuse, United Masters, Routenote, iMusician, Symphonic, Landr, Distrokid and a few other labels like AWAL, Vydia, Believe, Stem, etc.

 

I will add the excel worksheet format, which I personally use to manage 100s of artist accounts.

 

Streaming Platform Accounts

Well, one of the most crucial parts in this method is getting streaming platform accounts, as each

music platform has different subscription plans and premium accounts pay more royalties compared to free accounts. Each platform will need 1000s of streaming accounts, which you can acquire by two different methods.

Method#1

You can either create free accounts manually using proxies with the help of multi-accounts browsers such as Gologin, Incogniton, Dolphin.anty, etc, which have inbuilt features such as fingerprint generator, cookies management, proxies add-on. Can also use Android Emulators as well such as bluestacks and LDplayer.

It requires a lot of time and resources such as emails, HQ proxies, VCCs.

You can either create a free as well as premium account using residential and mobile proxies, if

you want to invest money and time, you can proceed with this method. These streaming accounts will last longer as we have total control of them.

There are a lot of providers, who upgrade your personal free accounts to premium accounts at a price of 20%, which the music streaming platforms charge yearly.

Method #2

This method is a bit of a gray hat. I basically use a HQ checker in this method, which supports 5 modules; Pandora, Spotify, Deezer, Iheartradio, Naspter.

Will require good streaming combos as well to use on the checker and the checker will check the combos and let us know which accounts are registered and abandoned by users and we can utilize those accounts for our streaming

purposes. We can get free as well as premium accounts using this method and with the help of the streaming software, we can use these accounts by binding proxies to each account, so that they won't get red flags for logging in and out with different IP addresses each time we run them on the streaming software.

In the below image as you can see that I have used the checker and with the help of combos and proxies, I was able to acquire 15000 plus free accounts. These accounts are the accounts which are registered and abandoned by the users. This checker supports 5 modules, so will have 1000s of accounts for all these 5 music platforms to use with our streaming software.

 

Key To Success

Never stream only one music platform, you can easily get your artist banned. For example, if you have an artist live on Onerpm or Soundcloud, and you only stream Deezer, the distributor will get royalty only from Deezer, and that raises a red flag and there are chances that the artist will get takedown and they will not release the royalties. Play safe, stream on at least 2-3 different music platforms like Spotify, Deezer, Iheartradio or others.

Eg: If you have 30000 streams in total for the

album in that given month on Deezer, you should at least have 2000 streams in total for the album on Spotify, and 1000 streams on other popular music platforms each. Keep that ratio to play safe.

After the first payout, never get greedy and start streaming millions on each artist, you will get an instant takedown of your artists accounts.

Always use HQ Residential and Mobile proxies combined for streaming (Invest more on good proxies). As I told you, the best place to get good proxy providers is the BHW marketplace. Before buying try out their test packages.

Always run Mobile version and Web/desktop version software of the music streaming platform, so that you can get even streams from all types of devices, this will increase the trust score and there won't be any risk for takedown.

Get your artist on a paid playlist, this will help in getting organic streams. Search for

best curators who are willing to add your albums on their playlist.

To cash out more royalties, create social media accounts of the artist, a one-page website, and a few articles for SEO. I know it is not possible to create social accounts, websites, etc. for 100s of artists, but create at least for 20% of the artists. This will also help in getting organic streams. Implementing this will help in cashing out more royalties, no headaches of takedowns, and can apply for label accounts as the artist's account grows old.

Scaling this method is really easy and you can double the amount of artists within 6 months. Start with at least 10 artists on different distributors, 2 in each. After the first payout, put at least 50% in buying artist accounts each month. Rinse and repeat

every month and within 6 months, you can easily have 60 plus artists.

Paypal Accounts: It will be a plus point if you own 2-3 personal Paypal accounts, or else create accounts with friends and family help. Paypal will give us an option to add additional 6 emails apart from the main email, that will account to total 7 emails, so one email can be easily used on “n” numbers of distros. As I manage 1000s of distros, I buy stealth paypal accounts from BHW and cash out royalties through those Paypals.

VCC: Instead of buying live artists, if you want to upload music to distros, you will need VCCs for subscription. You can use Revolut for VCCs or can get VCCs in the BHW marketplace.
